Seeking a more soul-filling line of work after a stint in corporate America, Charlie founded Trailhead after catching a keen interest in coffee. What started as experimentation with home brewing, and ultimately, roasting, eventually lead to...well, Trailhead.
As happy on two wheels as he is on two feet, you’re most likely to find Charlie out on one of his many bikes when he’s not in front of the roaster. He takes his coffee ethically sourced and, ideally, outside.
Lawson D’Ambrosio
Director of Operations
Having also spent time working with coffee’s close cousin, chocolate, Lawson has a deep and abiding appreciation for ethically sourced, carefully roasted beans. With a career that began in kitchens and developed to larger scale manufacturing, he keeps Trailhead running smoothly in the day-to-day.
Outside of the roastery you’ll find him hosting dinner parties at home, lugging around 30lbs of camera gear on a hike, and enjoying concerts at the many wonderful venues here in Portland.
